Economy Restaurant & Bar Supply was founded in 1946 by Harold Dumoff, after he returned to Philadelphia from fighting in the Pacific during World War II. He bought a Revolutionary War Era building on Arch Street in historic Old City, a street once frequented by heroic American figures such as George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, and Betsy Ross. It was in this charming building that Harold founded the restaurant supply company that would become a neighborhood staple. His idea of the American dream, that everybody deserves an equal shot and an honorable deal, has been carried on by the Dumoff family through three generations.
Today, Harold's sons, Danny and Lenny, as well as his grandson Mike, work together to supply culinary artists, food industry professionals, and restaurant entrepreneurs with state of the art restaurant equipment at unbeatable prices. Throughout the years, our words of wisdom have provided the foundations for restaurants that have come to define their cities' character.
